These are a selection of photos from our current Heritage Lottery Funded project. We are working with the Art Society from the University of Exeter (who are our project partner), with young people from schools in Devon to create prints inspired by Leonard Baskin and Ted Hughes. Baskin, an artist-printmaker, collaborated with Hughes on many books together, the most well-know being ‘The Crow’. The Special Collections at the University of Exeter holds a collection of stunning prints by Baskin, as part of their Hughes collection. The Art Society students and young people have been to seen these prints first-hand, and have been creating work inspired by what they’ve seen and also read of Hughes poetry. The project continues in January to involve another group of young people from the Exeter area. Please contact catherine@doubleelephant.org.uk if you are aged 13-18yrs and interested to find out more.
